Reducing alcohol is a great first step toward a healthier liver, but maybe you’re in need of some ideas for replacing those beverages. That’s why we’ve compiled a list of delicious mocktails for you to try making at home. 

Hibiscus Sangria Mocktail

  • 6 hibiscus tea bags
  • 3 cups very hot (almost boiling) water
  • 3 cups cold water
  • 1 apple, chopped
  • 1 orange, with peel, sliced

Prep Instructions - Brew tea with hot water per directions on the package. Combine tea with cold water. Add chopped fruit. Refrigerate until fully chilled (about 2 hours). Add more fruit to garnish as desired. 

Virgin Bloody Mary

  • 1 cup tomato juice (like V8)
  • 1 tablespoon dill pickle juice
  • 2-5 dashes of hot sauce (like Tobasco)
  • 2 dashes of Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lime juice
  • ½ teaspoon celery salt
  • Garnish with fresh celery, green olive, dill pickle

Prep Instructions - Combine all ingredients. Garnish with celery, green olives, and/or dill pickle.

Ginger Mock-Mojito

  • 1 teaspoon grated ginger
  • 1 tablespoon grated cucumber
  • Juice of ½ lime
  • 6 mint leaves
  • ½ cup plain sparkling water (like La Croix, Perrier, Topo Chico or Pellegrino)
  • ½ cup diet ginger beer* (like Fever Tree) OR lime sparkling water

Prep Instructions - combine sparkling water and ginger beer. Add in grated ginger, cucumber, lime juice, and mint leaves.

*Note: ginger beer is non-alcoholic, and some brands like Fever Tree contain less added sugar.

Strawberry Basil Spritzer

  • ½ cup fresh strawberries, sliced
  • 2 cups sparkling water (like La Croix, Perrier, Topo Chico or Pellegrino)
  • Ice cubes
  • Garnish with extra strawberries and fresh basil leaves

Prep Instructions - Mix fresh strawberries with sparkling water and ice. Add a few mint leaves to mix. Garnish with more strawberries and basil leaves.

Blackberry and Thyme Mocktail

  • ⅓ cup fresh blackberries
  • ⅓ cup water
  • Juice from ½ lime
  • 3 sprigs of fresh thyme
  • Ice
  • Sparkling water (like La Croix, Perrier, Topo Chico or Pellegrino)
  • Garnish with extra blackberries and fresh thyme leaves

Prep Instructions - Mash fresh blackberries. Pour mashed blackberries and lime juice into a glass with ice. Add sparkling water. Garnish with fresh blackberries and thyme.
